Have you noticed that your computer has started running slower or you all of the sudden have these windows popping up claiming that you have just won $10,000. If that is the case, then it is likely that you don't have your computer properly protected from spy ware. Keeping your computer free from spy ware is not only important in keeping your computer running better, but even more importantly it keeps your personal information from gallivanting across the internet. If you are among the many then you've heard of spy ware, but don't really know what it is here is the short and sweet definition. Spy ware is software installed with out the user's permission that gathers and distributes your computer usage information.

 Now knowing what spy ware is is great, but you needed to know how you are going to get rid of it. There are hundreds, possibly thousands of programs out there that can be used to combat spy ware, but don't just do a Google search and pick the first one that pops up and most importantly don't pay for anti-spy ware software. The best anti-spy ware software currently on the market is free. The two most common are Spy-bot and Windows Defender. If you have the know how, you should go ahead and install the software yourself and just make sure to keep it updated, running the software once is a good start, but over time all the spy ware will come back if you don't occasionally download the updates and scan your computer again. And also don't be surprised to find out that you have new spy ware when you go a couple weeks without running your anti-spy ware software. Even some of the sites that you would never expect to have spy ware running on them, do and thus makes it that much more important to continuously fight it.
